Mickleton in Bloom

Working together for the future of our village

Calor Village of the Year

Gloucestershire 2008

The Judges visited Mickleton on Friday, 20th June.

They spent approximately two hours in the village.

After a general discussion and look around Mickleton, including a visit to the Allotments, they reached the Coffee Shop in the Village Hall at approximately 10.45 a.m.

The Coffee Shop had advertised the visit and large number of people were present and everyone had the opportunity to speak to at least one of the judges.

The judges obviously gained the impression that Mickleton was a very vibrant and active village. The lead judge remarked on leaving that "she would be worn out if she lived in Mickleton".

Many thanks to the group of volunteers who served the tea and coffee over a very busy couple of hours.

The results for the various categories will be known on Friday, 18th July when all the Gloucestershire villages entering the competition are invited to send representatives to the Awards Ceremony to be held at Highnam Court, Highnam.
