Mickleton in Bloom

Working together for the future of our village

Please, look beyond the heading, that, of ‘Mickleton in Bloom’,

To see a picture wider than, just daffodils and broom;

You might see troughs of pansies, with primula as well,

Geraniums and trailing plants, the populous to swell

The village scheme in wider than, the mowing of the grass,

Or, picking up the litter from, such motorists that pass;

It has a social background to, eliminate the drugs,

Which sadly dwells among some kids, and turns them into thugs.

The populous of Mickleton, as numbers gently swell,

Are part and parcel of this scheme, no matter where you dwell;

Inclusive are all ages for, it matters not your worth,

Ourselves we give in unison, upon our planet Earth!

What kids need most is self esteem, to give a sense of worth,

Don’t shut them out of plans and dreams, or make them feel as dearth

Encourage them, participate, and give them things to do,

Good citizens they will become, most honest, kind and true!

Our lifelong journey on this Earth, is measured but in ‘time’,

And, time’s been given to us all, to share along the line;

By sharing time we ALL can give, no matter what we do,

Enhancing of our Village Scheme, with ‘time’ from me and you!

Tis true to say that apathy, resides among us all,

A little pride in where we live, brings apathy’s downfall;

For, pride in moderation is, a motivator rare,

Twill bring about a sea change which, will prove that we all care!

We care that Kids are happy and, the ‘old uns’ are as well,

We care that all those in between, their happy numbers swell;

We care our Village blossoms in, a pure and natural way,

Cos Mickleton, when in Full Bloom, is sure to win the day!
