Village Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th  June 2012

It was unanimously agreed at an Open Meeting held in early June, that the village should celebrate the above occasion in “STYLE”.

A small working committee was formed and at the first meeting we discussed in detail all the suggested activities that had been proposed at the original meeting.

The committee wish the event (over a four day period) to be attractive to all age groups – we want this to be an occasion to be long remembered.

It is essential that an opportunity is given to everyone to put forward suggestions / proposals that they believe fitting for such a SPECIAL time.

Our ambitious programme (to be identified in detail at a later date) will require support / assistance both on the committee and during the celebrations.

We request your organisation to give us full support.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, 10^th August, 2011 in the Joseph Webb Hall commencing at 7.30pm.  Please send a representative/s.

Already nominated: A one-day BIG BASH event, individual street parties, picnic in the park, pig roast, decorated properties (theme red, white, blue and gold), open gardens, old photos exhibitions, discos, various exhibitions (at least four venues), school participation, scarecrows….& much more!

Yes, it’s an ambitious programme – WE CAN ACHIEVE IT.  Already we have great ideas for fund raising events.
